Terms & Conditions

General

These terms and conditions will apply to all transactions placed online or by telephone or post with Bear Basics Ltd. Please read carefully before placing any order. All contracts shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any dispute between us will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms and conditions will be deemed to affect your statutory rights.

By using this site you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

Orders

We are pleased to accept orders by any of the following methods:

Online transactions are processed through Sage Pay (previously called Protx) via a secure server. All credit / debit card transactions are subject to validation checks and are authorised by the card issuer. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Visa Electron, Delta, Maestro and Solo. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay and / or non-delivery of your order. No orders will be accepted or processed without a valid card payment in the name of the registered cardholder. 

Telephone orders can be placed during our opening hours of Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm, excluding Bank Holidays.

Orders can also be placed by post where we can accept payment via cheque or postal order. Please do not send credit card details through the post.

All prices include VAT at 20% except books and magazines which are zero-rated. To calculate the tax free value of the goods divide the price shown by 1.20.

All goods are subject to availability. In the event that we are unable to supply your goods within fourteen days, we will inform you and advise you of the expected delivery date. We do not hold goods on back order, if we are out of stock you will need to re-order the item with your next order.

Please note that orders cannot be combined! If you have forgotten to order something please email us immediately or call us in our open hours and as long as we haven't processed your payment we may be able to add the item to your order as long as the original payment hasn't been taken.

Delivery

Please refer to the delivery and returns page.

In the event of any goods delivered by us being damaged in transit, deficient of items shown on the delivery note or failing to match the items ordered by you, then such details must be notified by you to us within four working days of receipt. If we receive no such notification the customer will be deemed to have accepted the items as satisfactory. We cannot be held liable for any consequential loss caused by late delivery or failure to deliver by the company's appointed carrier.

Returns and Exchanges

We want you to be entirely satisfied with every purchase made from Bear Basics and are proud of the quality, range and advice that we offer. If you wish to return an item for exchange or you have decided not to keep it (cancel your contract);

• Please contact us within 4 working days from the day after the delivery day
• Contact us via email or telephone.
• Return it to us with the products original packaging and labels within 30 days of receipt.
• All goods to be in a new and unused condition together with a copy of your original receipt.
• We recommend that all items returned to us to be sent Royal Mail recorded delivery for goods under £36.00 or Special Delivery for goods over £36.00.
• If you feel the goods are faulty please contact us immediately and we will then contact you to resolve the matter, the above conditions also apply.
• Full returns address with telephone number and email address.
• This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights

Products, Prices & Content

Whilst every effort is made to ensure the pictures and colours depicted on the site match as closely as possible those of the actual product due to technical limitations, some colours may vary.

All prices are shown in pound sterling (£) and are inclusive of UK VAT at the current rate unless clearly stated.

Prices, product descriptions and specifications are checked to the best of our ability, and whilst every effort has been made to make them accurate, no responsibility will be accepted for errors and omissions.

All information on our web site is updated regularly. We reserve the right to alter our prices and specifications without notice.

Ownership of Goods

All items supplied to the customer remain the property of Bear Basics until final payment of all sums owing in respect of those goods has been received in full by us.

Privacy Policy

We will collect and store any personal data that you may volunteer whist using our services, e.g. placing an order or registering an account.

The type of information that we will collect will include - Your title and name, known address, contact telephone numbers, e-mail address, order and payment details. Details may be forwarded securely to other parties in order to fulfil this order only. These will include delivery and payment partners.

We will collect and store information about you to allow us to process and fulfil any order requirements. 

In addition to the Information that you supply to us, information and data may be automatically collected through the use of cookies. Cookies are small files stored within your web browser from our website. Our website cookies do not collect personal information about you nor do they allow us to access your computer in any way. All information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 .

We use tracking cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and no personally identifiable information is stored.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. All web browsers automatically accept Cookies, you can modify your browser security settings to block Cookies although you should be warned that changing Cookie settings can adversely effect the performance of our website.
